Principal Alton Bolden

Meet The Principal

I am a product of two parents who were administrators in the Broward County Public School System. I graduated from Dillard High School in 1995 in the top 3% of my class. I participated in two sports (football and baseball) in addition to being a member of the JROTC, National Honor Society, McKnight Achievers, and High Tech Computer Program.

I received an athletic and academic scholarship to attend Bethune Cookman University. I graduated from Bethune in 1999 with a Bachelor's Degree in Varying Exceptionalities K-12. After graduation, I returned home to follow in my parents' footsteps.

During my fourteen years working for the Broward County School Board, I concurrently obtained my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and received certification in Childcare Development. While working in education, I taught students in the area of Pre-K, Elementary, Middle, and High School. I noticed on all levels, the lack of men in education. Every school I worked had an average of three to five men and that is counting the custodian and resource officers. Each school also lacked men of color. Black boys and girls make up more than 60% of the population in public schools but only 39% in private.  It is important that they are able to see people that look like them in leadership positions. Being able to provide good education in a private prep school setting is the motivation a lot of underprivileged youth need.

Being a father, I realize the importance of a positive male leading by example. I enjoy spending time helping my own children as well as other children that I meet and help them grow into adulthood. I have mentored, coached, as well as tutored many students who have gone on to become productive contributors to our society.

Being apart of starting this Academy in 2013 was the best decision I could have made. Over the years I have seen several boys grow into young men and seeing them off to college was a dream for some but is now a reality. In 2020 we decided to add girls to our Academy and broaden our reach of people we impact. Being able to leave my mark on the life of another young man or woman so that they will one day return the favor to another young boy or girl looking for love and direction is my prayer. Put God First in your Life and pray often as a family will cause blessings to fall down upon you.
