Elementary Academic Track

Our K-5 are our primary grades and we are committed to developing foundation skills through the use of our A Beka Curriculum.  A Beka Curriculum places an emphasis on Reading and Arithmetic. To assist with remediating some of our students and advancing their education at their own pace we use 4 computer programs.  The 4 programs are Mindplay, Symphany Math, Reading Plus, and Ascend Math. Mindplay helps with phonics, vocabulary, and word foundation. Symphany Math helps with simple addition and subtraction. Reading Plus helps with reading fluency, word recognition, vocabulary, comprehension and more. Ascend Math covers all areas of math from 3rd thru 8th grade and continuously test the students on their level.  PGBA offers small pupil to teacher ratio (15 to 1) which ensures that each student's needs are met.  The maximum class size is 18 students; each class with 15 or more students has a full-time teacher and a resource aid to assist the teacher.  Our students in K-2 are taught in self-contained classrooms.  Our students in 3-5 grade will occasionally rotate between 2 to 3 teachers to get specialized instruction from a Language or Math teacher as well as a computer or P.E. teacher. Our curriculum and classrooms are engaging and enriched through instruction that is designed to promote higher level thinking skills.
The A Beka Curriculum targets the following:
 *Bible
 *Reading
 *Phonics/Spelling
 *Writing/Penmanship
 *Language, Science, or History

To keep the boys interested and motivated we have incorporated other activities that the boys can participate in as long as they have passing grades in all subjects.  Elementary students can participate in sports such as basketball and flag football.  They can also join clubs such as Choir, STEM, MBK (My Brothers Keeper), Chess, Drone Aviation, and more.
